UPDATE - 12PM - The Spanish Springs Library opened at 11:30 a.m. which is one hour and a half later then its scheduled opening time. The delay was a precautionary action taken after staff encountered a strong odor of gas upon entering the building.
Washoe County Facilities and NV Energy cleared and tested all the gas lines in the building to find that there is no leak and that it is safe for the public and for employees. The Washoe County Library System apologizes for the inconvenience.
The Spanish Springs Library is open until 6 p.m. and is scheduled to open regular hours tomorrow.

Library Administration decided to delay opening the building to the public until Facilities and NV Energy could ensure that it was safe to enter. At this time, the library is tentatively scheduled to open at 11 a.m.
