Sparks City Council votes to increase property taxes

SPARKS, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- Sparks homeowners may be looking at a property tax increase next year.

The Sparks City Council has voted to direct staff to prepare the 2015 budget with the maximum rate allowed by law of $3.66 per $100 of assessed value. The potential plan also includes an increase to the city's garbage franchise fee from 5 to 8 percent

Final approval is expected at a special Sparks City Council meeting on may 20th.

how about some explanation of where these increases$ are going? & don't try to lull us with "may be looking at" a tax increase. "special meeting", not unlike another "$pecial event"? is there going to be a 5-8% improvement in all the litter and casual debris around the city core?
