SPARKS, Nev. (Mynews4.com & KRNV) -- The area's only IMAX theater has finally set an opening date.

The Galaxy Luxury+ IMAX at the Legends at Sparks Marina will officially open its doors to moviegoers on Wedensday, February 12 at 12:01 a.m. The theater's first screening will be an IMAX 3D showing of “RoboCop.” Tickets and reserved seating will go on sale at GalaxyTheatres.com on Wednesday.

According to a press release, the IMAX theater will feature a 75-foot screen for the ultimate in IMAX and 3D viewing experience, which northern Nevada has never had before. The theater also features stadium seating with high-back, plush rocker chairs and plenty of legroom.

In addition to the IMAX theater, the 11 other auditoriums will be equipped with state-of-the-art digital projection and Dolby ATMOS, the most advanced sound experience available. Galaxy Luxury+ IMAX will also offer an expanded selection of concessions with a build-your-own sausage bar and Orville Redenbacher popcorn topped with real butter.

Cool 75 feet. Need more of these state of the art theaters. @Kramer your internet text, chat crap is childish. ("2 B 1") It take seconds to spell the correct way especially for a person who is always complaining about spelling, etc. Typical Hypocrite.

there used 2 B 1 at the bowling "stadium". I recall they had a wildfire movie there. Would be informative to bring that one back; also there's an eerie-yet-real film about tidal/sea-floor-dwelling creatures, and of course (ladies and gentlemen) The Rolling Stones. sparks U rock BLVD
