Sparks IMAX to offer early charity screenings

SPARKS, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- The Legends at Sparks Marina's new IMAX is offering moviegoers two charity opportunities to before it officially opens its doors.

The theatre will show the 2013 Superman flick “Man of Steel” in IMAX 3D, where all the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit two northern Nevada charities.
  • Sunday, February 9 at 3 p.m., proceeds raised will go to Michael Landsberry’s family through the Nevada Military Support Alliance.
  • Tuesday, February 11 at 7 p.m., proceeds raised will go to the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows.
Tickets will cost $15, and includes a free popcorn and soft drink. Advanced purchase is recommended and can be done by visiting

The Sparks IMAX will officially open on Wednesday, February 12 with a 12:01 a.m. screening of “RoboCop”. Tickets and reserved seating are available for purchase now.
