SPARKS, NEV. (KRNV & MyNews4.com)--The City of Sparks has launched a new program available online and on smartphones, designed for Sparks' residents to report problems in their neighborhood and throughout the city.
The program is called "Sparks Citizen Requests." You can find it on the right hand side of their website, www.cityofsparks.us
, or on their smartphone application called "Sparks, NV."
All you have to do is create an account with your e-mail address. After that, you can go on and report a problem. You just need to write where the problem is, and what type of problem. For example, you can report graffiti or potholes in your neighborhood, or really anywhere in the city you see the problem.
Adam Mayberry, the Community Relations Manager, says over 5,000 people have downloaded the app in the past 18 months.
He says the city will try and resolve every issue, but some issues may take longer than others.
"We've noticed over the years that things have fallen through the cracks and we aren't as responsive as we'd like to be, and each department has their own way of doing things, and so this is an opportunity to have some consistency across the city and ensure there's some accountability and we're hopeful our residents will embrace and use it," says Mayberry.
Once you submit your issue, you'll be sent a confirmation e-mail, where you can track your request. The city will also send you an e-mail when the issue has been resolved.
