SPARKS, Nev. (Mynews4.com & KRNV) - The Sparks Police Department have made an arrest in connection to a hit-and-run accident on Oddie Blvd that left one woman dead Thursday night.

They arrested Tamara Hanson (a.k.a. Tamara Cossey), a 30-year-old Reno resident. Cossey was interviewed and admitted to being the driver. She was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident involving Death, and her bail was set at $20,000.

The accident occurred at the corner of Oddie Boulevard and Sullivan Lane, at approximately 9:15 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they located the victim unresponsive and laying in the roadway. She was transported to Renown Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

A witness returned to the scene and told officers that he had followed the vehicle involved in the accident to an apartment complex. Detectives went to the Community Apartments, located in the 2300-block of Wedekind Road in Reno, and located the vehicle. They also found damage which appeared to be related to the accident.

I was at this intersection earlier the same day; & as i waited for a shopper to finish crossing, (with my turn signal on in the L turn going Sbound) on Sullivan. Typical aggressive NV drivers continued to enter Nbound on the yellow, stranding me as the red came on. This is one intersection that is 'turf' claimed by clue-less local leadfoots.

Running over the elderly woman may in fact have been an a horrible accident, but leaving her there to die alone on the cold dark street is not an accident, it is a calculated, cold hearted, cowardly decision. It makes me sick!
