SPARKS, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) – The names of two people who were shot while trespassing inside a vacant home in Sparks, leaving one dead, have been release.

The shooting happened just before 8 a.m. Thursday, February 13th, on the 1000 block of H street when the owner of a vacant residential home was told by neighbors someone was trespassing.

That home owner confronted the man and woman identified as 34- year-old Cody Devine and 29-year-old Janai Wilson.

Both were shot by the owner, Devine was killed, while Wilson is expected to recover.

Police say the homeowner is cooperating, but it's too early to know if the homeowner will face charges.

Even though the man and woman were trespassing, this allows the homeowner to open up and shoot 2 unarmed people. Shooting one dead and then shooting at the woman as she was running away? Shooting a woman running away seems like a very bloodthirsty act. The homeowner must be very well connected, cause I do not see how this could be considered a legitimate shooting. Shooting a woman running AWAY...

Hey Bart, give everyone your address so all the losers, bums, vagrants, druggies, alcohols and the rest of the vermin running loose can come trash your property and make it worthless.

Yes kdavis....people are stupid and have no regard for others, whether it be property, vandalism, etc. They did not belong there and the owner was protecting what is rightfully his. Pretty much a no brainer on this one.

He was defending his property. The couple should have known that they would be confronted. OR ARE PEOPLE "STUPID" THESE DAYS AND HAVE NO REGARD FOR THE LAW AND SOMEONE ELSE'S PROPERTY?
