SPARKS, Nev. (KRNV & MYNews4.com) - This past Sunday on February 5, 2012, the Sparks Police Department was notified of a possible stabbing that had occurred in the 800 block of Victorian Ave.

The victim stated that she was walking in the 800 or 900 block of Victorian Ave between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. when she was attacked by an unknown Hispanic male. The victim provided no further description of the suspect.

I know this doesn't seem like a big deal compared to other news stories, but it is. I hope Sparks PD have put a detective on this because it's alarming. The Sparks downtown area is promoted as a safe, family area. Crimes and subsequent news stories cause a untold amount of PR damage here. This area is already hanging on by a thread. C'mon people! We have very few businesses left in this area and now people are getting stabbed? This is not comm row, this is not downtown Reno. I hope they find this guy and put him away for a long long time. We need to maintain the fun family area and keep businesses thriving.
