Carson City, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Carson City Special Enforcement Team says they are working to stop drug activity in the area every single day.

As News 4 headed to Carson City on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 for more information on a recent methamphetamine bust, our crew arrived to find the Special Enforcement Team (S.E.T.) already on scene of another drug raid.

“It’s just a matter of time. We’ll find you anywhere you go within the city and sometimes outside the city, we’re on the hunt and we will find you,” says James Boggan, an investigator on the Carson City S.E.T.

Just one day ago, Feb. 6, 2014, the Carson City Special Enforcement Team found 60 grams of methamphetamine inside a Carson City motel and arrested two men involved. Today, it was the Carson City Inn, where authorities found heroin. Details of the raid are limited due to an ongoing investigation that could connect today’s bust to a recent burglary ring in the Carson area.

Boggan says they are working every single day to stop drug activity however, a recent crackdown on meth has caused a shift in drug use, “There has been a transition between meth users and heroin users.”

Boggan added that when authorities keep a close eye on one drug, it becomes more difficult to transport and in turn more expensive, causing drug addicts to turn to cheaper drugs, and right now that’s heroin.

“We’re seeing a lot more heroin users in the high schools and it’s even starting to creep into the middle schools,” says Boggan.

It’s a scary reality that Boggan and the rest of Carson City authorities hope to end.

If you have any tips for the Special Enforcement Team you can call the Carson City Sheriff's Office at 775-887-2500.

Well maybe we have to be futuristic about the minors who start using heroin. Put them in a complex for their parents to look at them on display for not paying attention to their kids. They'll pay attention once they're quarantined.

Great Job SET Team. Thank you for cleaning up my city. Without you the criminals would run wild. And by the way, the person who thinks the war on crime is a waste of time, tell me that when a druggy breaks into your house to steal for drug money. Also, the war on drugs is not a waste of time if it saves one parent from getting an overdose death notification about their child.

They still think they can win the war on drugs? In their own words all they're doing is turning out more heroin addicts. They need to stop filling our prisons with young people. Arresting them and sending them to prison doesn't do them or society any good. The government doesn't offer any help for these people and what treatment programs out there are privately own and cost as much or more than the drugs sold illegally on the street. Clearly the war on drugs is not working it's only destroying more lives it's time to try something else.
