SQUAW VALLEY, Calif. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Squaw Valley Ski Resort was the place to be on Friday, as they welcomed Olympic medalists Mikaela Shiffrin, Andrew Weibrecht and Julia Mancuso home from the Sochi Games.

Squaw Valley Marketing Manager Sean Kristi said, "It's all about celebrating the Olympic spirit and really highlighting the community and what it takes to raise an Olympian."

The event attracted past Olympic medalist, like 1964 Silver Medalist Billy Kidd. "It's such a treat to see these kids, especially with their own dreams," said Kidd. "This is a great place, and great memories of American skiing."

The event also served as the highlight of the 2014 Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships being held through March 23.
