RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - The Nevada Department of Wildlife, along with state and federal partner agencies, will jointly host a stakeholder update and engagement session on issues related to the conservation and management of Sage-grouse.
The meeting will be held January 18 at 2 p.m. in Carson City at the Nevada Legislative Building at 401 South Carson Street in room CC1214.
The meeting will be linked via video conference to Elko at Great Basin College located at 1500 College Parkway, High Tech Center, Room 121and to Las Vegas at the Grant Sawyer Building on 555 East Washington Avenue, Room 4412E.
The meeting will provide an overview of the coordinated efforts to conserve and avoid listing the Bi-state and Greater Sage-grouse under the Federal Endangered Species Act. Stakeholders will also be informed of opportunities to engage and provide input to the Sage-grouse management plans and conservation efforts.
Representatives from the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service, Natural Resources Conservation Service and NDOW will present updates and program overviews; representatives from the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Nevada Department of Agriculture, and Nevada State Office of Energy will also be in attendance to field questions.
