RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Reno will offer local entrepreneurs an opportunity to start a business in 54 hours in a room of designers, developers, and enthusiasts during the inaugural Startup Weekend Reno February 22-24.
During the concept-to-launch crunch weekend, local CEO's, founders, and startup veterans will be on hand to provide insight and expertise on the fast-paced world of technology startups in order to motivate and educate Startup Weekend Reno participators.
On Friday February 22, registered attendees will take to an open mic inside the weekend's venue, the Southside School, and begin pitching ideas to the group in 60 seconds or less. Ideas are typically web and mobile applications, and once pitched are voted on to create teams for top ideas.
Meals and coffee are included in the ticket price. The deadline to complete is Sunday evening, when the results are presented and prizes such as office space, marketing support, and hosting are awarded.
Startup Weekend 101 will take place at CRAFT Wine & Beer on January 24 at 5:30 pm, and consists of brief organizer explanations and Q&A's, BuzzWord Bingo, and a chance to meet designers and developers in the community before the main event.
