RENO, Nev. (Mynews4.com & KRNV) -- The mother whose children faced suspension for not wearing school uniforms is taking her fight to the Nevada Supreme Court.
Mary Frudden sued the Washoe County School District over its uniform requirement in 2011. On Monday, she told justices that state law does not give principals and parent-faculty groups the authority to require students to wear uniforms. Frudden argues that only the Washoe County School Board has that authority under state law.
About 30 schools in Washoe County have uniform policies.
