RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- A local Think Kindness campaign became a smashing success on Friday.
A display of karate was the reward for an outstanding shoe drive at Stead Elementary School. Students collected more than 2,000 shoes to send to children in Kenya, more than any other school in the area.
It is part of a nationwide campaign to perform acts of kindness for those less fortunate. The students also built and displayed a Kindness Chain of linked paper slips filled with notes of acts of kindness.
