Storey County, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Storey County has declared a state of emergency in anticipation of the flooding slated to arrive Sunday, December 2nd.
In a press release declaring the state of emergency, the county announced that sandbags would be available in the following locations:
• 400 Ave de la Colors- Lockwood
• Fire Station 73- 500 Sam Clemens- Mark Twain Estates
• Fire Station 72- 2610 Cartwright Road- Virginia City Highlands
• Fire Station 71- 145 North C Street- Virginia City. Sand is available at the Ice House Lot on Toll Road
Shovels will not be provided, so residents will need to bring their own to fill their sandbags.
County officials also wanted to remind residents to be cautious and aware during the exteme weather conditions, and to be prepared for the possibility of power outages.
