RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - There are various power poles and wires down in the College Parkway area of Carson City.

NV Energy has one person in the area getting wires out of the roadway and other crews are en route.

NV Energy does not know when the power will be restored in the area. When power poles fall it usually takes longer to restore power than when just a line falls.

There was a small fire related to the downed lines, but it has been put out.

News 4 Chief Meteorologist Brandon Wholey is reporting 75 mile per hour wind gusts in the Washoe Valley and Mount Rose Highway at about 4pm today.
