RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The Reno Police Department has arrested a suspect for an incident that happened at the Bubinga Lounge at the Eldorado Hotel in December.

According to a press release, 25-year-old Stefan Johnson was arrested without incident on Thursday. He is charged with second-degree murder for using what police say was an excessive amount of bodily force against the victim, which caused injuries that resulted in his death.

On December 15, officers responded to the Eldorado Hotel in regards to a subject in custody for trespassing. Upon arriving, officers spoke to the male who was being detained and called for medical assistance due to an apparent medical problem. The subject was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Reno Police Detectives initiated a death investigation, while working in conjunction with the Washoe County District Attorney's Office. Upon review of the incident, it was determined that the victim had posted negative comments about the Bubinga Lounge security on social media, and he was denied entry into the club based on these comments. A verbal altercation ensued and the suspect, a Bubinga security officer, caused injuries to the victim.

An Eldorado spokesperson sent out this statement regarding the arrest:

"From the day of the incident and throughout the investigation, the Eldorado has fully cooperated with local law enforcement and we will continue to offer our full cooperation.

Given that criminal charges are now pending, the Eldorado is unable to provide further comment at this time."

It was unfortunate that this happened, but I gotta admit that I sure did see a lot being a local in downtown Reno for a year and three months. One major thing that definitely stood out was the extreme outlandishness of the security staff at the properties owned by the Carano family - seemed as if they were trained to torture the innocent, tax paying, law abiding, non-criminal citizens, and let the real troublemakers get away with everything. I saw it staying in the hotels, where it seemed like everyone was constantly being carded and being forced to show their room key a good ten times per day, being an avid gamer on the casino floors, where some idiot tried to write me a citation for an open container of non-alcoholic ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK, on top of getting followed around, carded, record checked, and playing twenty questions for two straight months in a row, where I kept repeatedly getting harassed by a broken English speaking rent-a-cop for supposedly resembling someone who had been 86'd from their properties for trespassing. The security manager was an idiot who wouldn't even pick up his phone, return calls, or show up anywhere in person where and where he knew there would be confrontation. So, overall, this incident didn't surprise me.

IT WAS THE MANs BROTHER!!! not the actual man who was 86'd. So he failed at his job. And needs to step up. IDC if he was nice and "Awesome-Sauce" if i killed somebody at a bar trying to "Stop" it from Chaos then i would be guilty. Maybe he didnt try to kill him. But he intentionally beat the s*** out of him and kicked him in the ribs and then gave not one s*** to see if he was ok or needed medical attention. Not good at his job,not a bouncer, and not a caring individual.

Anyone that knows Stefan knows that he would never intentionally hurt anyone! He's one of the nicest guys I know. And as someone stated earlier this guy was a known gang member and had caused previous problems. He was 86'd for a reason. This does not deserve to happen to Stefan!!

I use to be a bouncer at Brew Brothers and Bubinga for a while -- and worked with this guy a lot.. (ya'll probably know me, if you go there). Anyways, this guy is awesome-sauce, and is a very very upstanding dude. My heart is very heavy hearing this.... literally. All of you that are speaking badly about this situation do not know this individual. He is definitely a friend.

Doing your job while causing some ones death.. Oh wow yeah that's doing their job. Their job as "bouncers" is to safely deal with a potential violent situation in calm professional matter, not go ufc on people.

The victim is known for fighting and is also known as gang member! Which he is also 86 from other clubs due to his behavior! Sometimes life is not fair but if you put yourself in these situations nothing good is going to come out of it.. I call it like I see it. A bouncers job is to pretty much protect the club from fights and chaos!
