Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)— Reno Police arrested Richard Sharks for sexually assaulting an elderly woman in her home on Apr. 13, 2012 around 3:30 a.m.
Officers say Sharks was knocking on doors and telling residents that he had their wallet. Police say an elderly female victim partially opened her door, which had a security chain, and Sharks forced his way in and assaulted her. The victim was taken to the hospital and is being treated for her non-life threatening injuries.
Police say Sharks is a Tier 3 sex offender with four prior convictions including failure to register as a sex offender, open and gross lewdness, and battery with the intent to commit sexual assault.
Sharks was released from Nevada Department of Corrections in November 2011 after completing a sentence for sex offender failure to complete annual verification.
Sharks is being held without bail.
