Suspect evades arrest by diving into the Sparks Marina

SPARKS, Nev. ( & KRNV) – Sparks Police say a suspect swam to the middle of the Sparks Marina and threatened to kill herself when police tried to arrest her for stealing a car on Saturday.

Police say Carol Stotler  was trying to evade arrest and the Sparks Fire Department Water Rescue Unit was called in to rescue Stotler.

Stotler was taken to shore and arrested. 

In addition, she was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor and felony warrant along with the keys to the stolen car in her possession.  

Stotler was booked into the the Washoe County Jail.
