RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The "Veterans Upward Bound" program at Truckee Meadows Community College has been awarded nearly $2 million.
The five year grant came from the U.S. Department of Education. TMCC's veteran program was one of 49 programs selected from 300 proposals nationwide.
The program gives veterans the opportunity to explore and identify aspects of their military training that can be channeled toward being successful in an academic atmosphere.
The program has been around for more than 23 years.
