RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- In the summer of 2012, Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) signed a contract with the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to accept and operate the Nevada Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP).
Now a part of TMCC’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education department (WDCE), LTAP includes on-site training, a video library, workshops, webinars, technical assistance and other resources. LTAP works directly with local, statewide and national agencies to ensure engineers and technicians are prepared to meet the needs of the street and highway community.
Established in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration and NDOT, LTAP is a network of 58 centers—one in every state, Puerto Rico and regional centers serving tribal governments. The program enables counties, cities and towns to improve roads and bridges by supplying them with a variety of training programs, information, updates on new and existing technologies, personalized technical assistance and more.
