TAHOE CITY, Calif. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- There will be some delays and road closures to look out for this weekend from Tahoe City to Pope Beach at Camp Richardson.
The City of South Lake Tahoe warns of the following traffic interruptions.
•Southbound Highway 89 traffic will be stopped at Inspiration Point from 7:50 to 8:35 a.m.
•Northbound Highway 89 will be closed a quarter-mile south of Spring Creek Road from 7 a.m. to noon as runners leave the highway and access the bike trail off Spring Creek Road. Motorists leaving from the South Shore trying to access the North Shore or Reno area will need to take Highway 28 around the Nevada side of the lake.
•In addition during the start of the race in Tahoe City from 6:55 to 7:15 a.m., southbound traffic will be held at Fanny Bridge and northbound turns onto Highway 89 will be restricted at Granlibakken Road, Cathedral Drive and Sequoia Avenue.
•Southbound traffic on Highway 89 will be stopped at Glen Drive during the half-marathon start and held from 9:15 to 9:40 a.m. as runners make their way off Glen Drive and head south on Highway 89.
There are no scheduled road closures associated with events on Saturday but motorists are reminded to share the road with bicyclists and expect delays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the 11th Great Lake Tahoe Bike Ride. Riders will start from Zephyr Cove in Nevada at 7 a.m. and circle 72 miles around the lake on Highways 28, 50 and 89.
