Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A local nonprofit is gearing up for the 2nd annual "Pies with a Purpose" fundraiser.
“I see myself taking huge steps, spreading my wings and soaring,” says 18 year old, Eddy House Resident, Nathan Wilson.
Nathan is making big strides as he prepares for life on his own. Nathan aged out of the foster care system last year and was welcomed into The Eddy House, “They’re there for you if you need someone to talk to. They’re there for you if you have no place to go.”
The Eddy House, a nonprofit organization gives young men, fresh out of foster care, a place to stay and even a place to work. Nathan works at Z Pie, the restaurant that funds the Eddy House. Nathan says life wouldn’t be the same without this program, “I’d probably be on the streets or something.”
