The Great Nevada Shakeout

Nev. ( & KRNV) – The University of Nevada Seismology Lab wants to make sure all Nevadans are prepared if a large earthquake strikes.

The "Great Nevada Shakeout" is a statewide public earthquake drill that will be held Thursday at 10:17 a.m. '

Nevada Seismological Laboratory director and shakeout coordinator Graham Kent says "The Great Nevada Shakeout is good preparation and Nevada gets about three magnitude seven earthquakes every century. It's been about 60 years since one of those has happened."
