The Washoe County School District hopes to improve graduation rates

RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The Washoe County School District says of the students on track to graduate this year, a high number of those students will be graduating with advanced diplomas.

School District Superintendent Pedro Martinez also says the district has a goal to increase graudation rates by as much as 30 percent in the years to come.

"We're working with our board now to have a goal of 90 percent by 2020, which we think is very achievable," Martinez said.

About 71 percent of seniors are set to graduate this year.
