RENO, NEV. (KRNV & MyNews4.com)--Therapy dogs from "Paws 4 Love" spent the morning with travelers at Reno-Tahoe International Airport.

This is the first time therapy dogs have spent time with travelers at the airport. Heidi Jared, with the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, says airport staff understands the added stress level of traveling for the holidays, and wanted to make the day as relaxed as possible.

Airport staff also handed out chocolate and bagels to travelers.

Mike and Peggy French were flying to Kansas City to see their daughter before she leaves for Afghanistan in February. Before arriving at the airport, they dropped their dog off at the dog sitter. Both of them were excited to see the therapy dogs.

12,000 travelers are expected daily through the airport through Sunday.
