RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles says almost 49,000 Nevada residents have taken the written test since January to obtain a driver authorization card.

The cards are available to international immigrants who aren't eligible for a regular driver's license and to people transferring driver privilege cards from other states.

Some state officials think as many as 60,000 people could be eligible to apply for the Nevada cards.

This program SHOULD be a good way to catch and deport illegal aliens,if our DMV wasn't so chicken-hearted. If you're not a LEGAL Nevada RESIDENT,you should have NO right to drive as one.

60,000 illegals in Nevada alone? That doesn't include the ones that don't drive or refuse to get a card!

They should be taking a driving skills test also!!! The fact accidents are happening on a daily basis, some being rollovers right in town (really?), apparently there is an increasing number of really lousy drivers out there... hmmm, coincidence???
