TRUCKEE, Calif. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Truckee Police Department is launching a new canine unit featuring a black Labrador narcotics detection dog, and the dog needs a name.

If you have an idea for a name, please share it with TPD. As you think of names, consider a name that represents Truckee history, weather, community, or policing.

Suggested names can be submitted in one of three ways:

Complete a Truckee Police Canine “Dog Tag” form and turn it in to the Police Station lobby located at 10183 Truckee Airport Rd. Forms are at the Police front counter.

Email name submissions to TPD Canine Handler Andrew Holbrook at aholbrook@townoftruckee.com. Type “Dog Tag” in the subject line.

Visit www.facebook.com/TruckeePoliceCanineAssociation and post your idea under the Dog Tag Comment
