TRUCKEE, Calif. ( & KRNV) -- The Truckee Police, Fire and Building Departments have recently implemented a program to make smoke and carbon monoxide detectors available to all city residents.

Recently, city officials went door-to-door distributing carbon monoxide and smoke detectors in several mobile home parks. Only five of the 125 residences visited had working carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. Residents were provided 130 carbon monoxide detectors, and over 350 smoke detectors.

If you need a smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector, they are available at any Truckee Fire station, or the Town Building Department at Town Hall.
