TRUCKEE, Calif. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A sex offender has been arrested in Truckee after lying about his true residence.
In October of 2012, registered sex offender Gustavo Ramirez, 20, moved into Truckee and registered with Truckee Police, acknowledged restrictions (which included prohibition from residing within 2,000 feet of a school or daycare facility). However, on Nov. 21, the Truckee Police found Ramirez had been lying about his true residence location, which was less than 2,000 feet from a daycare facility. Truckee Police regularly monitor registered sex offenders to make sure they are abiding by the regulations.
Truckee Police detectives located Ramirez at the prohibited residence and arrested him for Failure to Register and Violation of Probation. Ramirez was booked into the Nevada County Sheriff’s Truckee sub-station jail.
