Two arrested after purse theft at Peppermill

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & -- Reno Police have arrested two people after one of them robbed a woman at the Peppermill and the other drove the getaway car on Apr. 6.

Christopher Castro, 23, allegedly stole a woman's purse while she was gambling. He then ran through the casino and showed a knife to employees who tried to confront him, police say.

RPD says he then got into a green 90’s box van driven by 34-year-old Leslie Fernandez. RPD found the car Apr. 7 around 9pm.

Castro has been charged with Burglary, Robbery with Elderly Enhancement, Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Fernandez was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.
