CARSON CITY, Nev (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The victim in Thursday night's altercation has passed away at Renown Medical Center.
According to a press release from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, he succumbed to his injuries late Friday afternoon.
UPDATE: CARSON CITY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- News 4 has received updated information from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office in regard to an ongoing investigation of an altercation that occurred last night in Carson City.
Investigators have determined the participants involved were all acquaintances of one another and possibly intoxicated. At some point during the evening, a verbal argument escalated to a physical altercation resulting in one person being seriously injured. The victim was transported to Renown Medical Center by Care Flight where he is listed in critical condition with life threatening injuries. No further information is being released on the identity of the victim at this time.
Initial reports of the fight informed the Sheriff’s Office that one person was stabbed. That information was determined to be unfounded. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the altercation and have been identified as Alfredo Santiago (pictured left) and Ruri Santiago (pictured right). Both have been charged with Battery Causing Substantial Bodily Harm.
Although both have bail set at $15,000 each, they both have had additional immigration holds placed on them for deportation proceedings following the resolution of the criminal charges.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- A fight last night in the 1000 block of Woodside Drive resulted in the hospitalization of one man, according to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.
The fight took place between acquaintances, and occurred while people were heavily intoxicated, Furlong said. One man was beaten badly enough that he had to be taken by CareFlight to Renown. This person is currently in critical condition, and has very serious injuries throughout his body, Furlong said. His identity has not yet been released.
Furlong tells News4 that deputies do not know who started the fight, but they are in the process of interviewing everyone involved. The Sheriff’s office is currently speaking with the DA, but no one has been charged and the brawl was not gang related.
