RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Area high school students flew mini-quad copters as part of the University of Nevada Reno's first ever "Unmanned Autonomous Systems Summer Camp" Thursday morning at Rancho San Rafael Park.
The camp's goal was to teach students more about the growing drone industry and give them an awareness of the aviation and aerospace industry including.
"We have 14 17-year-olds out here today and we really want to reach them young -- the younger the better, and the sooner they can get on the career track that we want them on," said camp instructor Elyse Bozsik.
About 20 high school students participated in the inaugural U.A.S. Summer Camp this year.
