RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Graduation weekend is upon us for the University of Nevada, Reno and they will be awarding 2,251 degrees and certificates during their spring commencement.

Three ceremonies are planned to honor all the graduates. The ceremony for advanced-degree recipients will be held Friday afternoon. Bachelor degree ceremonies will be held Friday and Saturday mornings.

Last year, the University began having two undergraduate ceremonies to accommodate larger graduating classes and bigger crowds. UNR officials say the number of graduates has increased 23 percent since 2007.

That's because many people with no prospect of work have went back to school and are surviving on student loans, now it's payback time with the same dim job opportunities.
