RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- More than 2,600 students will move into the University of Nevada, Reno’s residence halls starting Thursday, Aug. 22 in preparation for Monday’s first day of classes for the 2013 fall semester.
Residence hall assignments are up by 5 percent over fall 2012. A total of 2,600 students are assigned to the residence halls this fall, compared to 2,450 assignments in fall 2012. The University’s residence halls are at 115 percent of their design capacity. To meet demand, rooms in Argenta Hall remain converted from doubles to triples and Juniper Hall remains double-room occupancy versus single. As the need for on-campus housing continues to grow, the University is planning a new residence hall, which will break ground next year.
The University of Nevada, Reno’s fall 2013 enrollment numbers will be finalized in September, following the “add/drop” deadline. It is anticipated to be above last fall’s enrollment of 18,227 undergraduate and graduate students.
