RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- UNR is once again being recognized nationally. The university continues to pile on top rankings for educational value.
UNR is getting a reputation for quality education at an affordable price. Three reports are ranking the university as a top educational value for students.
"Several of these rating agencies now are identifying the University of Nevada, Reno as among the top 100 best value universities in the country," said University President Marc Johnson.
Johnson said the school's record enrollment and record number of graduates is showing why the campus has a high value. "So if you have a ranking of a high quality, high performing institution, at a very reasonable price, that's another reason to say, we're a good value."
A report by Payscale.com ranks Nevada right at the 25-percent mark of all colleges and universities, in terms of its tuition return on investment. "Our graduates are getting jobs, so they find them in the databases of income-generating people, and then secondly, they show that the incomes our students get over the next 20 years after school are good strong incomes relative to the price of education here."
Johnson says it is important for people to understand and see a university education as a long-term investment into their future. "But even during the most dire times of unemployment over the last four years, people with bachelor's degrees actually had far, far lower rates of unemployment then those with a high school diploma or even less."
Johnson also says part of their mission is to make college accessible to all students. Best Value Schools ranked the university at #9 in the western United States for offering the best return on investment.
