UPDATE: RPD apprehends second suspect in Sutro Street shooting

RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Law enforcement has apprehended the second suspect in Wednesday's shooting on Sutro Street. He was located in a house near Eighth Avenue and Spokane Street around 3 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.

RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The Washoe County Administrative Complex is now back to normal operations for the public and for employees. Earlier today, the Complex was under lockdown and closed to the public due to a threat in the neighborhood.

Although the County is back to normal operations, visitors should be aware that some streets in the area are still closed due to the investigation from multiple law enforcement agencies. Sutro St. remains closed between E. Seventh and E. Ninth Streets.

UPDATE: 1:55 p.m., 9/3/14

RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Reno Police Department has confirmed that the suspect shot by area law enforcement is dead.

While the area remains secure, Washoe County School District says Duncan Elementary and Traner Middle School are now on a cautionary lockdown.

An early release has been scheduled: parents can pick up their children, and those taking school transportation are able to meet at the bus stop to leave the neighborhood.

RTC buses, however, have been rerouted due to the incident.

RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday morning, a multi-agency law enforcement team was conducting surveillance on a wanted subject who was possibly armed.

After the subject presented a weapon at the officers, shots were fired.

"Don't know if he shot at the officers, but officers did shoot the subject," said Officer Tim Broadway.

RPD is looking for a white male who is between 5 ft. 8 to 5 ft 10, medium build, with short hair and wearing eye glasses.

Officials say the area is secure --schools in the area are on lockdown and the County administration building is also closed.

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - Reno Police says they are looking for a shooting suspect.

RPD says one suspect was shot by area police officers and another is possibly on the loose -- officials are asking for the public to say out of the area of Sutro Street and East 9th Street.  Police says the area is not secure yet and multiple agencies are involved.

Duncan & Traner Elementary schools are on Code Yellow Lockdowns. Coral Academy of Science is also on lockdown.

At least two dozen law enforcement vehicles are in the area and helicopter is circling the scene.

Sutro is closed from 9th to the I-80 overpass for the investigation and suspect search.

Bus stops in the area are closed, and the County administration building is closed as well.

What about Coral is it on lock down? The Middle School is right there. The Charter schools always seem to be skipped in the reporting.

'Code' might want to "clear" that burned-out hulk of a 'house' right on the NE corner of Sutro/9th.
