Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this about the time him and his son were both running for offices here in Nevada? Maybe needed a little more money for bribes of their own?

Johnson doesn't have any reason to lie about it, he's going down anyway. I'm no fan of Harry Reid but Johnson never spoke to Reid personally so someone could have been giving Johnson the run-around.
