SPARKS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Sparks Police Department has continued to receive information that Verizon cell phone customers are having trouble connecting to area dispatch centers when calling 911 and Verizon says they are working on the problem.
The problem is city wide.
Currently there is no estimate on when the problem will be resolved. Again, the issue appears to be that there is no audio for Verizon callers who are calling 911 from their cell phones. The Sparks Police Department recommends that citizens program the non-emergency number into their phones. That number is 353-2231.
