RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- A new Veterans Resource Center has opened at TMCC. The goal is to provide resources to the 400 veterans who attend school there each semester.

The center will allow veterans to meet with mentors, convene study groups, enter information into college forms at three computer work stations and hold meetings in a conference room. There will also be fellow veterans to help them file any sort of claims and help them get their benefits.

The face behind the new center, Roberta Bickford, is a retired Navy Chief Pettery Officer, who conducts Veteran New Student Workshops, submits VA's enrollment certifications and helps students who are veterans. She says she is very excited about the new center and can't wait to see how the center helps enrolled veterans.

The new center is located on the first floor of the Red Mountain Building on the campus of TMCC.
