RENO, Nev. (AP) — Police have identified a victim killed in a motorcycle crash as a 29-year-old Reno man.

Authorities say Roscoe Robinson was riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon on Stead Boulevard when he crashed into a car attempting to make a left turn at the intersection of Ural Street.

Police say Robinson tried to stop but crashed into the side of a Nissan Altima.

Robinson was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say it doesn't appear alcohol was a factor.

Dear jvlreno,Looking at it from both sides(I am also a commercial driver with 2 million accident free miles)My guess is he was probably speeding for #1 the car driver was not cited and for #2 the police say the motorcycle tried to stop but couldn't.I believe if he were doing the speed limit his chances of avoiding the collision would have been pretty good.Usually defensive riders are looking for people who are turning left in front of them,I know I am.#3 I see young men on these rice rockets do it alot.I am not trying to pick on the guy,I'm just looking at itfrom both sides. However I could be completely wrong.Only the final report from the police can say for sure.R.I.P. Roscoe. 3the car driver was not cited

Hi Louie, I've been riding since 1969 also so no amateur here, had many close calls and drove way to fast in my younger years, just curious how you know the biker was speeding? RIP Roscoe

FOUR idiots! The scammers are unusually thick here today. Riding a motorcycle in the Reno area will either make you a SURVIVOR or a STATISTIC. My condolences to the rider's family. I've been a rider for 45 years, and know first hand how quickly things can get ugly out there. I'm hoping when my time comes I'll also be doing something I love. Rest in Peace,Roscoe.
