RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The woman who was crushed between a van and a home Saturday night has died, according to Sheriff Ken Furlong.
The man driving the van is in jail and law enforcement officials say the crime appears to be totally random. Leonardo Cardoza, 27, is in jail booked on suspicion of Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injuries, and DUI.
According to the Carson City Sheriff's Office, Cardoza was tailgating the woman and her fiance Saturday night. He then followed them to a home off of College Parkway where he ran into the woman, pinning her between his van and the house.
According to Sheriff Ken Furlong, Cardoza has no prior history with the Sheriff's Office. Furlong says at this time there is no motive.
The victim's identity is being witheld.
