RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The Washoe County School Board of Trustees is set to make a decision on Superintendent Pedro Martinez's settlement offer.

Board members will discuss whether or not to approve a $25,000 settlement offer to Martinez at their board meeting Tuesday. If approved, Martinez will have 10 days to accept or decline the offer.

Martinez is suing the school district after he was "relieved of his duties" in July. His million dollar lawsuit alleges the school board violated Nevada's Open Meeting Laws throughout the process. News 4 will be present at the meeting -- tune into our evening shows to find out what the board decides.

OK OK OK, So the school board is inept and my have conducted their meeting illegally. Correct it and get back to business. AND the next item of business is revisiting why the board wanted to take action in the first place. Martinez allegedly lied to get the job and has done a horrible job during his time here. The board needs to do it legally and GET RID OF HIM! Let's try to improve our school district and the education of our children. That isn't happening currently under the Pedro Martinez administration.

The WCSD Board of Trustees caused this mess with their inept handling of the situation. They should be voting to pay the legal expenses for Martinez that were the direct result of their own action rather than voting on some arbitrary dollar figure. It's clear that they are doing this so that if Martinez refuses (because it doesn't cover his costs) they can malign him as greedy and unwilling to settle their differences. Incompetence continues to reign supreme on the Board of Trustees.

Not sure if open meetings were violated but, something bad surely went down. Perhaps someone on the board had some sort of bias agenda against Martinez? just my opinion..
