Walk to help feed the hungry this Sunday

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The 21st Annual Reno/Sparks CROP Hunger Walk well be held this Sunday, Oct. 21 at Snowflake Pavillion in Idlewild Park at 2pm. Registration for the event begins at 1:30. The three mile walk is held to raise hunger awareness and generate money to give to those in need in our community.

Twenty-five percent of the proceeds go to support the programs of Family Promise, the Kids Café of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, and Ridge House. The remaining funds are distributed by Church World Service, a ministry supported by 37 denominations and Orthodox communions. In the past 20 years, the Hunger Walk has raised $218,275.15.
