RENO, Nev. (AP) — A series of warm, Pacific storms is moving into the Lake Tahoe and northern Nevada region but will likely bring more rain than snow.
The National Weather Service says the first wave should arrive Wednesday, with snow levels hovering around 7,000 feet.
More potent storms are expected Thursday into the weekend, bringing much needed moisture to northern Nevada. But forecasters say most of the precipitation will come as rain, with only the highest elevations in the Sierra expected to receive snow.
