Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)--Washoe County School District Officials are hosting five public meetings, starting tonight, to invite the community to ask questions and learn more about school safety and security policies.
Superintendent Pedro Martinez, WCSD Police Chief Mike Mieras and other school officials will discuss school safety, district safety procedures and ongoing efforts to keep all schools safe. At the series of five public meetings, trustees and district staff will share information about safety measures currently in place in Washoe County School District schools, including regularly scheduled drills, police patrols, training courses for officers and staff, fencing, single point of entry plans, and the lessons learned from tragedies that have taken place in schools in other parts of the country.
