RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- After many legal headaches, the Washoe County School District has approved district-wide school uniform changes.

The policy is not for or against uniforms, but sets guidelines for schools to follow when implementing school uniforms, including gathering community input.

"[Schools] have to gather input, they then have to have enough notices [sent] to the parents [of kids] who currently go to that school, and they have to get [a certain number] returned in a favorable light to [move the initiative] forward; and what can go on the uniforms is regulated by law," said Washoe County School District Board Member Dave Aiazzi.

School uniforms will limit design and wording on the uniforms to the school name and mascot only.
