WASHOE COUNTY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Washoe County Commissioners, elected officials and department heads worked together to establish key objectives for the upcoming year and beyond during the County’s annual strategic planning retreat earlier this week.
Washoe County says commissioners established five objectives for the 2013-2015 Strategic Plan:
•Sustainabililty, including financial sustainability, sustaining our services and infrastructure, and sustainability of our natural resources
•Regional economic development and diversification
•County workforce development, including employee retention, training and succession planning
•Safe, secure and healthy communities
•Public participation and transparent communication
The results of the planning session will be compiled and then presented to the Board of County Commissioners for action and adoption during the Feb. 26 meeting in the County Chambers. For a look at upcoming agenda items and a schedule of those meetings visit
