RENO, Nev. (AP) — The Washoe County Health District has downgraded the area's burn code from red to yellow.
Officials say the air quality in the Truckee Meadows has improved slightly.
That means it's OK to use fireplaces, wood stoves and pellet stoves.
But officials are urging residents to curtail burning on a voluntary basis. Reducing burning now can help prevent air pollution from reaching unhealthy levels.
