RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Whole Foods Markets in Northern California and Reno are taking part in the American Heart Association's Kids Cook with Heart program and the Healthier Kids initiative.

The money raised will go to support healthy eating programs in public schools. The store will also be conducting healthy family cooking demonstrations throughout the day on April 9th at 6139 S. Virginia Street.

The American Heart Association expanded their “Kids Cook with Heart” initiative in late March and offers health focused, hands-on cooking and nutrition education in schools. Shoppers can talk with AHA representatives, attend healthy cooking demos and even nominate their local school to receive a healthy eating program through AHA. Applications are available online through April 16th at http://bit.ly/KidsCookApp.
